Trim Tabs & Accessories

Buying a Lenco or Lectrotab electromechanical trim tab system is as easy as 1, 2, 3. And for a full run down on why you should be buying an electric trim tab system - Follow these easy steps to configure your new trim tab system, whether you are replacing an existing system or creating a new build.

Step 1: The Trim Tab Plates: Firstly you must choose your size and construction of trim tab plates. Lenco and Lectrotab offer trim tab plates in robust stainless steel or a slightly more economical aluminium alloy option. These are sold in pairs providing you with the correct number for a normal installation as well as giving you a saving compared to buying two singles.

Trim tabs are also available in a wide range of sizes. Chord lengths are available in 9" (228mm) or 12" (305mm) and trim tab widths are available between 9" (228mm) and 42" (1067mm). Smaller lengths allow for faster cruising speeds but are only appropriate for smaller boats. For larger boats you will require larger tabs, but these create extra drag and impact on boat speed. We can also offer a full guide to help you choose the right sized trim tab plates for your application.

Step 2: Trim Tab Actuators: The actuators attach to the plates and the boat to perform the required adjustments to trim level. They are quiet, non hydraulic and maintenance free, as well as totally corrosion free. Lectrotab also back their actuators up with a lifetime warranty! Actuators are available in 12V and 24V and have a range of stroke times, with 8 second stroke speed being the most popular by offering a smoother and more controlled boat response to tab adjustments.

Step 3: Trim Tab Control Panels: both Lenco and Lectrotab offer a wide range of control panels to operate your trim tab system, as well as simple switches. Options include wireless control panels suitable for 12V and 24V with built in LED position indicators, as well as our wired panels available in different styles. Position indicators are also available separately in stylish gauge designs.
