With the exception of a 24V Voltmeter, all Faria Beede Instruments are supplied ready to fit into a 12V DC system. If you wish to use them on a 24V DC system, then the input voltage to the gauge must be reduced to 12V DC.
There are three ways to achieve this explained below:
Fit each instrument with the appropriate dropping adaptor, the small unit fits onto the positive stud and reduces the 24V system voltage down to 12V. The correct adaptor must be used with each Faria Beede Instrument.
A change of bulb can convert pitot speedometers, ammeters and water pressure gauges to 24 volt systems as the bulb is the only part of those gauges which is affected by the electrical input.
Alternatively you can use part number 708924 which converts 24V DC electrical systems down to 12V DC. It fits neatly onto the reverse of a Faria Beede Tachometer and this single unit will operate one Tachometer and up to three 52mm Faria Beede instruments. This is the same proven unit that we use on our instrument panel ranges.
