ZF Marine traces it's history back to Count Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin who created his own company (ZF Friedrichshafen) in 1915 to manufacture gearboxes for his ill fated Zeppelin airships. By the early 1920's, ZF had moved into the automotive market and began developing driveline and chassis technology. Today ZF is a world leader in the gearbox industry and produces products for some of the world's best known automotive companies and also supplies the rail, marine, defence and aviation markets. ZF Marine is the marine division of the ZF group of companies. Having taken over the IRM and Hurth transmissions companies, ZF Hurth is now a major player in the marine transmissions markets. We currently only offer the replacement to the Hurth HBW100 gearbox, which is the ZF10M transmission unit.
