Requests for Thornycroft spares should always be accompanied by the engine number / build list. The Thornycroft 33 is a 2 cylinder, 4 stroke, vertical, inline 635cc diesel engine. Based on the Mitsubishi L2 engine block, Thornycroft marinised this in two versions. The 33 was Heat Exchanger cooled, and can be found mostly as a Yacht's auxiliary engine. The 33E was Keel Cooled for Inland Canal use. From the MS-01-33 Thornycroft leaflet, ratings are as follows: 1500RPM 5.8BHP 1.54LPH, 1800RPM 7.2BHP 1.72LPH, 2200RPM 9BHP 2.06LPH, 2500RPM 10.1BHP 2.35LPH, 3000RPM 11.7BHP 2.82LPH, 3600RPM 13.5BHP 3.50LPH. Intermittent rating is listed at 15BHP.
