The Volvo Penta 120 Saildrive unit followed on from the popular 110S sail drive. The 120C and 120S are close coupled saildrive units, coupled to the engine directly without a shaft and gaiter. The 120C & 120S Volvo sail drive units were a popular choice when mated to one of the small Volvo diesel engines, especially for sail boat applications. During production, the 120 saildrive models changed, to include derivatives such as the 120S, 120S-A, 120SB, 120C and 120C-D.
