Owatrol Gelcoat and Surface Restorer is a specialised oil formulated to revive the colour and appearance of gelcoat, plastic, and metal surfaces.
Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for applications on boat hulls, desks, portholes, rigging, masts, spars, car bumpers, tiles, and more. It is suitable for use on horizontal and vertical surfaces, including fiberglass (GRP) surfaces.
This restorer eliminates the need for traditional surface treatments like waxes and polishes by effectively penetrating the gelcoat surface, revitalising pigments that may have dulled or faded due to exposure to the elements.
Application is straightforward using a cloth or a soft brush, with a quick drying time of just 10 minutes.
After application, the restorer forms a robust, long-lasting, and flexible finish that withstands environmental factors such as UV rays and weathering.
For optimal results, proper surface preparation is crucial. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Remove any previous coatings thoroughly, and address mildew if present.
After use, tools can be cleaned with white spirit. Caution is advised regarding the disposal of materials soaked in the restorer, as they may pose a fire hazard if not handled properly.
Additional application information includes a recommended temperature range of +5°C to +35°C, avoidance of direct sunlight and hot surfaces during application, and the prompt removal of excess restorer to prevent film formation on the surface.
Please note: This product is not intended for use on white surfaces, as it is specifically designed to revive pigmented surfaces.
