The Victron Centaur battery charger CCH012050000 is a fully automatic marine battery charger designed for use all over the world. The charger will function at full capacity between 90-265V AC (50/60Hz) input voltage and will also work on 90-400V DC input, making it a universal product for boat owners and boat builders alike. It is designed to meet requirements for CE in Europe as well as UL for USA.
The charger features an aluminium epoxy powder coated case which uses stainless steel fixings, all designed to withstand heat, humidity and salty air. The case also features a drip shield and internal circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating to protect against corrosion. The Centaur also features temperature sensors that will ensure the unit runs within specified limits, and in extreme hot conditions will reduce output current and force cooling to protect the power components. It also features ignition protection, as well as an inbuilt ammeter displaying total output.
It is suitable for charging up to three batteries simultaneously. The Centaur features a three stage charging process - bulk, absorption and float. It will bulk charge until the output reduces to 70% of the rated Amps, at which point it will enter a four hour absorption stage, before finally switching to float.
The battery charger is rated 12V and 50A.
